Who You Are Matters
Who You Are Matters
Describe where you are from?
I was born in New Jersey; however, I've lived in Dubai my whole life, but I am originally Indian (lots of great food all-around)
Where you're going?
I am on a journey towards launching my own business. My passion lies at the intersection of entrepreneurship and technology, a realm where innovation meets practicality. For as long as I can remember, I've been captivated by the endless possibilities that technology offers, particularly in terms of making a significant impact on society.
How do you plan to get there?
In order to launch a successful business, I realized that marketing is especially important and hence I decided to continue my higher education at USC by enrolling in the Progressive Degree Program for a Master's in Marketing. Excited to stay at USC for another year! However, I would like to simultaneously launch my own business while doing my Masters.
How are you LIKE your parents?
My parents have always been my greatest teachers, instilling in me the fundamental principle of fighting passionately for what I cherish. They taught me that when it comes to the things I love and believe in, half measures simply won't do.
How are you UNLIKE your parents?
My parents aren't as social outside of their respective families, which is something that I've tried to be mindful about.
Have you developed your own expectations for yourself, or if you were honest, would you say you're operating under someone else's expectations?
I would say that my parents certainly set a high standard for to me operate within, however, I now have high expectations for myself to succeed within. At times that can mean putting more pressure than required on myself, but I've realized that it's in these challenging moments that I truly discover my potential.
Who, other than a relative, serves as a model for you of someone who lives life with great passion and personal responsibility?
My best friend Zain is someone who always inspires me to live life to the fullest while making sure that I am fulfilling my personal responsibilities to myself and those I love.
Connecting with the ANIMAL WORLD: what wild animal do you feel a special connection with, and why?
I've always felt a connection with the lion, which for me symbolizes strength, leadership and courage. The lion's commanding presence and noble demeanor resonate with my own aspirations to lead, inspire and serve. For me the lion represents a strategic and protective instinct as well. I first encountered a lion during my visit to a safari and ever since then I was hooked.
Connecting with the NATURE KINGDOMS: Describe a significant childhood encounter with a tree or plant.
One of my most cherished childhood memories is of our oak tree that stood like a gentle giant in our backyard. I remember it as a beacon of adventure and a symbol of stability. It always brought me a sense of comfort.
