Name of Organization: United Play

Mission: My organization United Play plans to use the universal language of sports to foster understanding and unity among youth from diverse backgrounds. Our mission is to create safe and inclusive environments where young people of all genders can come together through sports in the hopes of transcending cultural, national, and religious boundaries. Therefore, by facilitating sports programs and events, we aim to promote friendship, teamwork, and mutual respect, which I believe are vital in building a peaceful world, which with the current political climate is much needed. 

Passion: My passion for United Play stems from my first-hand experience of watching sports transcending boundary and uniting people of diverse backgrounds. Living in Dubai, but originally being from India, cricket was my sport and when in Dubai I had teammates from Pakistan, and they ultimately became some of my closest friends despite the historical tensions between India and Pakistan, this highlighted how sports can bridge even the deepest divides. Sports have the ability to dismantle barriers and foster a shared sense of community and belonging, which is why I am committed to replicating this experience on a larger scale through United Play.

What makes United Play unique? What sets United Play apart is our focus on sports as a tool for social change, specifically targeting regions and communities where historical or ongoing conflicts have created deep-rooted divisions. So you think India, Pakistan, or Israel and Palestine - this stems from our vision that we are equal and have the same wants, needs and things we love and hate. And we do not plan to be limited to a single sport, while yes, we would certainly start with one sport, but we hope to ultimately be a part of all sports (even spike ball).  Unlike general sports initiatives, our programs are meticulously designed to integrate conflict resolution and cultural exchange into the sports curriculum. By doing so, we not only engage children in physical activity but also educate them on empathy, understanding, and the importance of diversity. This dual approach ensures that participants gain more than just physical skill. We hope that they develop life skills that contribute to the healing and unification of fractured communities. We are current living in a time when the world has never been more divided and so I hope that through this organization, we can unite, and play, together. 

Why should AMDP support us? AMDP, with its commitment to doing business in a socially responsible, environmentally sustainable and a profitable manner is the ideal partner for United Play. Our organization’s mission aligns with AMDP's objectives to create impactful, community-driven change. Supporting United Play would enable AMDP to extend its influence into the realm of youth and sports, areas that are profitable in shaping future leaders who are well-equipped to navigate and bridge cultural divides. We will be working with future sports superstars, CEOs, and all in all the leaders of tomorrow. Furthermore, by investing in United Play, AMDP will be at the forefront of a novel approach to conflict resolution and community building, setting a precedent for how sports can be strategically used to address some of the most pressing social challenges of our time and hopefully putting an end to it once and for all.
